Message from the President, Ron Andrews: After two consecutive years of not being together and consulting with many Shipmates, we decided to have our 50th Golden Anniversary HVRC Reunion this coming May 11, 12, 13, 14, 2022, in where better than in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania? - our Ships Namesake. It has been much too long and we need to be together again. I hear it is beautiful there in May and maybe bring a jacket or sweater. We will be staying at the newly renovated Crowne Plaza Philadelphia hotel in King of Prussia, PA 19406. The hotel is adjacent to the national park, the large shopping mall and casino. You will be able to tour the park in your own car and even join another shipmate. You can visit the battlefield, the chapel, the monument and tour the house where George Washington stayed with his encampment 1777 - 1778.
When calling the hotel to make reservations, please make sure to reference the USS Valley Forge Reunion, in order to receive the discounted group rate. Transportation options for those flying in, Uber may be the best mode of transportation from the airport to the hotel.
Please remember, it has been a custom to bring a $10 gift (or cash in envelope) to the Saturday night Banquet for our raffle drawing.
We will be using the services of the AFRI Armed Forces Reunion Inc. once again. They will handle mailing invitations and details for our stay. Pease click on this link to download the registration form if you haven’t received your mailing information.
Your responsibility is to join your shipmates and cover your hotel expenses. So, come and enjoy this beautiful state and of course fellow shipmates and families. Hopefully, this Covid thing will be almost gone by that time.
